TOMS.

Okay so it was my birthday a couple of weeks ago and I received faaar too many new clothes/shoes that I even had to clear out my wardrobe to make more room (it was very emotional saying goodbye to the hideous collection of items i have managed to hoard over the years!) but I'm sure time shall heal the pain and in the mean time i will be obsessing over one of my favourite new items, the Teal Stone-Washed Cord TOMS shown above. I'll admit it, i used to screw my face up a bit when i seen some Hippie loving-everything-about-life kind of person walk by in a pair but now i understand why- I too would be loving everything about life if i was wearing the comfiest shoes ever created! Its safe to say they are definitely my new comfort shoes, you know, the ones you wear when you're quickly popping down the street or when you have no time for any shoe dilemas! The best thing though about them is they are comfy AND fashionable. Now, i am a girl who loves nothing more than kicking about in joggies and a Tee at home so when i find something that is comfortable and something you're not too embarrassed to be seen in by the public eye then its a win/win for me!!!

I have to say i'll probably be buying a couple more pairs to take away with me on holiday, and seen as every pair you buy, TOMS,  give another pair of shoes to a child in need in Africa! So it will probably be the most selfless investment i'll make! That's todays good deed done then!

Adamante Eve

Our story behind the shoot, is a girl who feels trapped and restricted runs away to her Secret Walled Garden, this is where she begin to feel more free and become her own liberated self.

Okay so for our Fashion Comms project we have 6 weeks to make a magazine in and around Gala in the style of a high fashion magazine (ours is ELLE.) Bit gutted we got given ELLE unlike i-D or Dazed and Confused which the other groups were given, but hey you got to work with what you got! So our theme is all to do with the first woman, eve, and the way she has turned us into more independent women, hence why our issue is titled the Liberty Issue. We did our main photoshoot the other day and have to choose 6 of our best shots to go in. Hope you enjoy!

Back in to the swing of things...

Okay so its safe to say our Menswear section of the course for this semester most certainly didn't mess around in getting us right back in to action! In our first class back, with no backgorund knowledge whatsoever in how to actually do the task, they decided to tell us to bring in a mens pair of jeans, and turn it into a mens bag.... in 4 hours. It was all a bit of a riot and to be honest no one knew what to do so it was quite entertaining seeing bits of denim being thrown around left right and centre. Anyway, it wasn't  too serious a task so we all managed to have fun with it. Thought i'd post up a wee picture of what my final 'masterpiece' was. I wonder if it would sell for 99p on ebay?

Capturing Moments...

Okay so this is my new baby. And in some ways i probably do treat it like a baby because im so afraid of breaking it (sad but true ) Anyway, so this was my Christmas present as being a Fashion Communication student its pretty necessary to have one. I'm still getting used to it as there are far too many buttons and functions to change, so for now i'll happily still stick to 'Auto' mode! I did however go on a photography course during the holidays which helped me understand it a bit better. It was through Eskom Photography who were offering a cracking deal on Groupon which was too hard to refuse, i'll update you with some pictures form the course later on!

New Beginnings,

Okay, so this has been a little bit overdue. Six months later, after seeing through the summer and Christmas break i have finally set up this blog- which i had sworn to do back in July. I guess i could use the excuse of being busy since becoming a student but that would just be telling a full based lie. I guess i should introduce myself a little; I am an 18 year old fashion student studying in the lively Galashiels, originally from Ayr, which now seems like the wildest town in comparison. I am studying Fashion Communication, but have no idea why sometimes as i'm completely unaware of what it is i actually want to do. Anyway. I'll be ranting and raving on this every now and again. So enjoy!
